Yettel marks 25th anniversary in Bulgaria, tops 10 million mobile phone sales

Celebrating its 25th anniversary in Bulgaria, Yettel reports it has sold more than 10 million mobile phones since launching operations on the local market. Yettel also reports that the Xiaomi Redmi 13 128GB was its best-selling smartphone over the past decade, with nearly 50,000 units sold. The Samsung A05s 64GB ranked second with almost 36,000 units, followed by the Samsung Galaxy A20e 32GB Dual with nearly 32,000 units.

Slovak Telekom adds data sharing option for second Sim device

Slovak Telekom has introduced data sharing from the main mobile package with other devices, reports ZIve. Customers are offered additional SIMs or eSIMs for second devices that can access data traffic without having to be connected to the main smartphone. The service is offered for a monthly fee that ranges from EUR 1 to EUR 10 on top of the main subscription. The operator has also introduced to customers a promotion of tablets under 24-month installment contracts.

Cellnex Poland deploys 178 new towers in Q2

Revenues of Cellnex Poland totaled PLN 268 million in the second quarter of this year, and its EBITDA after leases was PLN 157 million. In April to June, the company deployed 178 new towers and at the end of the period owned 17,949 mobile network infrastructure sites in the country. The company also launched 415 additional microcells. The whole infrastructure, including microcells, amounted to 25,241 sites.

O2 Czech Republic has introduced its new tariff plan for children under 12 years old. For CZK 299 monthly, the plan includes unlimited calls and SMS as well as a 2 GB data bundle. Payments for third-party services, risky telephone lines and harmful content are blocked within the tariff. After the data package is used up, mobile internet services at 384 kbps are available. T-Mobile Poland cuts staff by nearly 5% in 2025

T-Mobile Poland reduced its number of employees by 4.5 percent year-on-year in 2025, according to its recently published ESG report. The number of staff at the operator declined from 3,612 at the end of 2024 to 3,447 at the end of 2025. The figure was 3,549 at the end of 2023. More than 3,000 employees worked under permanent contracts at the end of 2025.

French prepaid connections down 4% in Q2 after clean-up of inactive SIMs

The number of prepaid connections in mainland France declined by 3.7 percent year-on-year in the second quarter to 6.18 million, according to telecom regulator Arcep. This contraction reflected a net loss of half a million prepaid SIMs during the first half of 2026, following net growth of 262,000 in the previous six-month period. In the second quarter, the net loss amounted to 283,000 and was primarily driven by a clean-up of inactive SIMs, said Arcep.

Openreach connects more towns, villages to full-fibre network

Openreach has started work to build new broadband networks in the village of Humberston in Cleethorpes (Lancashire), the town of Cradley Heath (West Midlands), Hayling Island (Hampshire) and the village of Rownhams (Hampshire).
