Lenovo announces new range of meeting room bundles with Huddly

Lenovo has announced a new range of full room meeting services based on its ThinkSmart Core Gen 2 and run by Oslo-based Huddly's intelligent audio-video devices. They deepen platform integration, enable unified device management through ThinkSmart Manager, and consistent Microsoft Teams Rooms and Zoom Room provision in any size of room. The Lenovo ThinkSmart-Huddly bundles will be sold directly through Lenovo from the second quarter of 2026. The new services will be presented at ISE 2026.

Dutch operator Odido is introducing an outdoor modem for its fixed-wireless service for businesses. Named 5G Internet Pro, the service promises improved speeds and capacity thanks to the stronger signal outdoors. It costs EUR 50 per month, including the modem rental. Speeds of 500 Mbps download and 50 Mbps upload can be expected, with capacity for up to 20 simultaneous users.

Brazil mobile market contracts in December

Brazil's mobile market reversed the positive trend in December 2025, dropping to 270.2 million lines from 270.3 million the previous month, resulting in a penetration rate of 101.8 percent. According to figures from the National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel), 4G remains the dominant technology, accounting for 66.1 percent of connections, followed by 5G at 21.5 percent. The total 5G connections numbered 58.1 million, up from 56.6 million the previous month.

Eltex unveils new line of 400G switches for data centres

Russian company Eltex announced the launch of two switches for data centres, the MES5600-24 and MES5700-32, both including 400G ports. The MES5600-24 includes 24 100G ports (QSFP28), eight 400G ports (QSFP56-DD) and two 10G ports (SFP+). The whole capacity totals 11.2 Tbps. The flagship model MES5700-32 includes 32 400G ports (QSFP56-DD) and two 10G ports (SFP+), for total capacity of 25.6 Tbps.

Rostelecom places RUB 15 bln bond

Russian national operator Rostelecom has placed a RUB 15 billion bond on the Moscow Exchange. Afa-Bank, Gazprombank, Sber CIB and Sovkombank acted as underwriters. The proceeds will be used for refinancing current debt and won't lead to any increase in total debt, the company said.

Montenegro mobile market grows nearly 5% in 2025

Montenegro's mobile market ended 2025 with 1.48 million lines, which represents a monthly decrease of 1.65 percent, but reflects a yearly rise of 4.75 percent, translating to a penetration rate of nearly 241.7 percent. According to the Agency for Electronic Communications (Ekip), postpaid subscriptions dominate the market, accounting for 58.84 percent of the total. M:tel leads in market share at 41.36 percent, followed by Crnogorski Telekom (36.17%) and One Crna Gora (22.47%).

Telekom Slovenije tests 5G on 26 GHz band

Telekom Slovenije and the University of Ljubljana's Faculty of Electrical Engineering (UL FE) have successfully demonstrated 5G technology operating on the 26 GHz frequency band in Slovenia. This test achieved a record data transfer speed of 2 Gbps towards the network, opening doors for various use cases, from professional video production and enhanced experiences at large events to advanced industrial environments where seamless communication between machines, robots, and autonomous systems is vital.

Telenet signs TVOD deal with Kinepolis cinema chain

Belgian cable operator Telenet has signed a TVOD deal with the cinema chain Kinepolis. As a result, relatively new films will be available to rent on its TV platform, and on the app of its broadcast arm Play Media. Customers can buy or rent the movies. In addition, cinema tickets for Kinepolis will be sold on the Telenet platforms.
